Senior Portrait Scholarship Program

•June 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Attention Class of 2010!
June is here and school is out!  This means many different things for students, but if you are an upcoming high school or college senior, now is the time for senior pictures!  Having your senior portrait session is one of the most exciting aspects of preparing for graduation.  However, Photography By Nicolette is aware that some students don’t have the opportunity to purchase a senior portrait session due to family financial hardship.

Photography By Nicolette is offering a Senior Portrait Scholarship Program for three upcoming high school or college seniors.  The students chosen will receive a Senior Portrait Session and a Senior Portrait Package which includes an 11×14 wall portrait with gift 5×7 and 4×6 portraits plus wallets, personal image cards and 30-day online gallery.

Seniors may self-nominate, or be nominated by a member of their family, school or community.  Seniors will be judged on demonstrated need, academic achievement, community involvement, future orientation and personality.

Applications are being accepted through September 1st. Winners will be announced by September 30th.

You must submit the application information below to the studio via email to PhotographyByNicolette@yahoo.com.  Please call Nicolette at (702) 977-9160 if you have any questions or need more information.

Traditional Korean Wedding

I was honored to be a part of this traditional Buddhist temple wedding in Seoul, Korea.  The groom was carried in on a platform, and the bride arrived in a ornately carved wooden palanquin.  They took turns bowing to each other and consuming different food and drink as signs of respect and their future happiness.  It was just beautiful!Park wedding

We did it!

Anh & Arnold’s wedding followed a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony the previous afternoon.  The wedding reception was a balance of Vietnamese and Filipino traditions plus contemporary additions, such as fun games and prizes.  None of the guests left empty-handed amid a wide variety of wedding favors, including instant prints of reception table pictures courtesy of Photography By Nicolette!

Congratulations to Denzel of Garfield High!  He is the winner of this year’s Senior Portrait Scholarship Program!  Nominated by his mother, Tracey, and highly recommended by teachers, Denzel is a high-achieving student who has received awards in Math and Ku-Onesha.  He is also involved in Northwest Black Pioneers, Toddler Tech Child Care, and Mt. Dana & Jim’s wedding was the perfect garden theme.  They had a beautiful garden wedding at Bradner Gardens Park, served a delectable carrot cake, and even the wedding favors were potted plants, labeled “Seeds of Love”!  Special thanks to wedding coordinator, Farlis Lewis, for helping put together such a great theme!  Their reception at Acalia in Queen Anne featured a full funk band and lotsa dancing!  Congratulations, Jim & Dana, I wish you the best!

At five weeks old, this precious little boy learned to smile the day before our portrait session – what luck!  Check out more pics of him and his hot mama on my main website!

Anh and Arnold’s Engagement

Portraiture with Personality profile: Multicultural.  Anh & Arnold are having a very unique wedding next month.  They will be blending traditional Vietnamese and Filipino wedding customs with their own contemporary style.  Our engagement session reflected this celebration of their cultural influences as well.  We started off with casual white and khakis, wearing shades in the 95*F weather, strolling around Drumheller Fountain at the University of Washington.  Then, Arnold changed into this great Filipino barong, and Anh wore a gorgeous off-shoulder dress for a very classy look accentuated with the ornate settings available on campus.  Finally, the bright Vietnamese garments below were worn and Anh & Arnold posed for some fun and playful images.

Congratulations to Tiffany & Jason on their wedding!  The outdoor wedding was held on a sunny Seattle afternoon, although the day began as a girls’ day with all of the bridesmaid, plus the flowergirl and mother of the bride at the beauty salon – perfect!
