I had the privilege of photographing Tiffany & Jason’s wedding last summer, and they had a wonderful gift arrive on the very day of their first anniversary – baby Zachary!!

I was happy that Tiffany and Jason chose me to update their family portraits, and had a wonderful time playing at the park and catching some candid images of this young family sharing their love with one another.  I’m honored that my photography has been a part of their family over the past two years, and  look forward to documenting their family journey in years to come!

Congratulations to Tucker, who will graduate from Kentwood High School this spring 2010!

After graduation, Tucker plans to attend the Art Institute and study animation.  Amid today’s computer-dominated world, he has a passion for traditional sketching and hopes to pursue non-computer generated animation.  I look forward to seeing some of his sci-fi work in the future!

Portraits of Love

•September 3, 2009 • Leave a Comment

PMDAI’m happy to participate in the Portraits of Love Project, which aims to send 10,000 free family portraits to deployed soldiers this holiday season.

Designed to help bring a piece of home to soldiers around the world, the project is utilizing the talents of over 150 volunteer photographers across the country who are opening their studios this September, to offer free family portraits to military family members who have a soldier deployed overseas.

Prints will be sent, free of charge, directly to the soldier in Iraq, Afghanistan, or wherever they are deployed around the world.   “It’s incredible how motivating a simple family photograph can be to a soldier who is far from home,” said Sergeant First Class Toby Nunn, who has served two tours in Iraq and has worked with Soldiers Angels on a number of projects.

Military family members can email me at photographybynicolette@yahoo.com to make an appointment.

Senior Portrait Scholarship Program

Attention Class of 2010!
June is here and school is out!  This means many different things for students, but if you are an upcoming high school senior, now is the time for senior pictures!  Having your senior portrait session is one of the most exciting aspects of preparing for graduation.  However, Photography By Nicolette is aware that some students don’t have the opportunity to purchase a senior portrait session due to family financial hardship.

Photography By Nicolette is offering a Senior Portrait Scholarship Program for up to three upcoming high school seniors.  The students chosen will receive a Senior Portrait Session and a Senior Portrait Package.

Seniors may self-nominate, or be nominated by a member of their family, school or community.  Seniors will be judged on demonstrated need, academic achievement, community involvement, future orientation and personality.

Applications are being accepted through September 1st. Winners will be announced by September 30thYou can request a nomination form via email to PhotographyByNicolette@yahoo.com.

Traditional Korean Wedding

•September 6, 2008 • Leave a Comment

I was honored to be a part of this traditional Buddhist temple wedding in Seoul, Korea.  The groom was carried in on a platform, and the bride arrived in a ornately carved wooden palanquin.  They took turns bowing to each other and consuming different food and drink as signs of respect and their future happiness.  It was just beautiful!Park wedding
